Croatia is famous in this part of Europe as desirable destination for summer holidays.
A month ago I was spending a holiday with my family.
We decided to go to small town called Tribunj near Sibenik. Beautiful place.
The advantage of small coast towns is that they’re less crowded and that’s exactly what we were looking for. I think I’ll never forget what my 6 years old daughter said when we just arrived.
“Mom, dad this is my happiest day ever!”
There is absolutely nothing that can compare with my child happenies.
What is the measure of happiness?
Since we didn’t go on summer vacations for years strange thing happened to me. I started to think about my work, achievement, am I successful, am I happy and things like that.
Since I have a full time job, I run this blog because I like to share my knowledge and opinions with others. Beside 8 hours work I spend 2-3 hours sometimes more for managing my blog.
I’m a little bit of perfectionist and it takes me more time than it should have. Believe me, my wife knows :).
Do I get tired?
Absolutely!
Did I think to quit my blog?
Never!
There is actually one little thing that’s keeping me in motion – I like what I do. So the questions that came to me during our vacation like am I successful? Am I happy?
I can say for myself I AM.
The point is I like what I do. Maybe the real question would be – What is the measure of happiness?
There will be always people who have more money, better house, better car … than you and me.
The truth is, if you’re not happy in this moment of your life you’re never going to be happy.
So my glass is definitely half full and I see things optimistic no matter what.
Now I would like to hear you
Is your glass half empty or half full?
What is the measure of happiness for you? Is it a money, a car, your family, job or something else?

I agree with you Dragan, I am very busy as well, but since I like what I do, I am happy. Sometimes I get tired and don’t want to do the things I have to do (even though I’ve made that my choice), but those are moments. Whereas, the overall life is good 🙂

Hi Dragan- You have a beautiful blog. I often ask myself if I am successful and I think the answer varies depending upon which part of my life I am looking at. In my personal life I feel that I am extremely successful, but that is where I have spent the majority of my efforts. Now that I am back in the “business” world, I have some catching up to do. I don’t EVER measure my happiness compared to other people, only myself. I also try not to measure it by material things (that one is hard), but by my own growth. Always moving forward, and yes, that glass is always half full 🙂

Hi Megan,
It’s good that you separated personal from business point of view. You have a very healthy approach when it comes to business and I no doubt in your success :).
Thanks for sharing your edifying story.
