Business are constantly seeking ways to grow and expand their list of contacts for marketing campaigns.
Electronic mail newsletters and marketing blasts are a inexpensive, yet effective way to market your brand.
Below are a few tactics which will boost the number of contacts you have in your email database.
1. Add a “Join Our Mailing List” button and functionality to your brand’s website
If you do not have a “Join Our Mailing List” button on your site, then get one as soon as you can. Many content management systems allow webmasters to install a simple module to add the mailing list functionality to a site.
Other websites created with site tools offered by various ISPs will often include an add-in that will allow users to add their address to your mailing list. Be sure to add the functionality to your Facebook profile page or fan page, as well.
2. Add a “Share” button and functionality to your brand’s electronic newsletters, your brand’s site and Facebook page
Allow users to easily share content that you have provided or sent to them. Collect the Forward To email addresses for future mailings.
Be sure to provide quality content that users will want to share with friends and family. Your contact list will steadily grow as users share your good content with other users.
3. Offer an incentive, such as a coupon code for a discount, to obtain users’ addresses
Offer a coupon code for a significant percentage off of your product. In exchange for the discount, ask the user to provide their email address.
Each time a user obtains a coupon code discount, you get their address. To further ensure that the user has given you a good address is to set up the functionality to automatically send a message to the address the user provides.
The message contains a verification link. The user must click the verification link to obtain their discount. This extra verification step ensures that users are not entering fake addresses to obtain the discount.
4. Add a Contact Form to your website
If you do not already have a Contact Form on your website, add the form and functionality. In addition, post your address on your Contact Us page. (Make SURE you have one of those on your website!).
A Contact Form will require the user’s address for a response to their contact inquiry. Collect the address and add to your contacts list.
5. Cross-Marketing Techniques
Build your email contacts using other marketing strategies, such as SMS or mobile marketing. If you have an SMS marketing campaign in place, send an SMS advertisement offering a special discount for each valid email address.
Offer users an incentive for providing the addresses of their friends and acquaintances.
Boosting your contacts list is not difficult. You just need to cultivate aspects of systems you most likely already have in place.
